Sad News

Our chairman Roger Toseland passed away on the 11th April 2006, after a short illness. Pam and her family would like to thank those who attended his funeral and all of you who sent cards and donations. Roger will be greatly missed by all, but definitely not forgotten.

Annual Rounders Challenge

With the wind howling, burgers and sausages sizzling, alcohol flowing and a lot of ducking and diving, it was quite an eventful afternoon. Barton Plant became champions for the third time, captained victoriously by Andy Burder.

Midland Fork Lift expansion

A new office and workshop is being built for Midland Fork Lifts and will be complete in Spring 2007. These modern premises will be environmentally friendly with state of the art insulation, heating supplied by waste oil burning and the creation of an orchard to help the buildings blend in with the local environment.

Grade II Orangery conservation

Bennie Historic Conservation have just been awarded a prestigious contract to restore and conserve the Grade II listed Orangery set within the grounds of Barton Seagrave Hall near Kettering. The works comprise traditional masonry repairs, cathodic protection works and conservation repairs to the highly decorative cast iron fenestration and glazed domed rooflights.
